Why BudTrader Exists

The cannabis industry runs on relationships and deals — bulk flower changing hands, distributors finding accounts, labs finding clients, retailers sourcing inventory. For years, that business happened in group texts, Instagram DMs, broker phone calls, and trade-show business cards. It was scattered, slow, and impossible to scale.

The platforms that tried to fix it overcorrected. They built heavy enterprise software — order management systems, ERP integrations, seed-to-sale sync, payment rails, logistics networks — and bolted a marketplace on top. To use them, you sit through a demo, complete an onboarding, learn a new system, and often pay enterprise prices. For a huge share of the industry, that’s far more than they need.

What BudTrader Is

A listing service and a directory, not a distributor. Every product on BudTrader is offered by a licensed business to licensed businesses in the same state, and every trade happens the way the state requires: on paper, with a manifest, between two licenses. BudTrader never sells, ships or takes payment for a product; the price, the delivery and the paperwork are between you and the company you trade with.

How It Works

   Sellers listA licensed cultivator, manufacturer, brand or microbusiness creates an account, verifies its license, and lists products with the facts buyers filter on: cultivar, THC, cultivation, cut, form, minimum order, lab results.

   Buyers searchA licensed retailer, distributor or manufacturer searches by state, category and attribute. Prices and contact details open once the buyer’s own license in that state is verified.

   They talkAn inquiry opens a conversation in both inboxes; the buyer’s request, the seller’s answer, and everything agreed stays in one place. The sale itself happens between the two businesses.

The Rules

• Licensed businesses only

  We verify every license against the state’s public record before a company’s listings, prices and contact details are shown, and the company page shows the date of that check.

• Same state, same license

  Plant-touching products are advertised for trade within one state, between two licenses, with a manifest.

• Nothing sold here

  BudTrader never handles product or money. Report anything that looks wrong from any listing or company page.
